Daddy finally gets a piece of the action

October 14, 2004

Scott was finally able to feel our boy moving tonight.

He performed well, rolling to and fro for his daddy's amusement.

Just to make sure

October 4, 2004

Since the little one was being completely uncooperative at our first ultrasound, we had to give it another go with fancier equipment and a specially trained technician.

It all checked out. All parts are there and operational and yes, it appears it is still a boy person.

Looks so much like his momma already!!

We'll call this one a boy.

September 20, 2004

The day we have been looking forward to. Our first real look at this little creature swimming around in my belly. We have seen it twice now but it still looked pretty much like a tadpole and we're keeping our fingers crossed for a more human-like appearance this time around.

The ultrasound tech does her thing. Pointing things out as best she can. Pointless since it all looks the same to us. The baby isn't being terribly cooperative...lying on its belly and not letting us take a look at the important parts. And then it kicks and shifts.

"We'll call this one a boy", the tech says.

I can hardly believe my ears. I grew a boy. A son. My son.

I don't think that was gas...

Flutter. Flutter. Flutter.

I feel Baby Dubal for the very first time and KNOW that it's just not gas this time.

In the beginnng.....

9:30 AM

I roll out of bed and take the test....the last one in the bulk package I had purchased at Costco.

Time is up and I take a peek. Wow. I sit there for a full 10 minutes staring at that pee stick. POSITIVE. No doubt about it. POSITIVE.

I take it to Scott who is still in bed and of course he says "what does that mean"?

I'm pregnant. Thank you, lord.....I'm pregnant.

Hitting rewind.....

The next several posts are going to take us all the way back to that fateful night that Liam was born and work forward thru some major events of these past 9 months. As I mentioned before, this is my only organized account of Liam's life thus far and so I feel I need to start at the beginning.......well, not exactly the 'beginning' (you've all probably figured that one out already), but from Liam's birth day on.

I've gathered the various scraps and bits of paper I have been methodically scribbling thoughts and milestones on and I hope to get most of it down into a somewhat legible and comprehensible timeline.

Bear with me, folks....it might be kind of fun to relive the past a little. At the very least there will be photos to amuse you until I get this blog up to date.

Enjoy.

Welcome Family and Friends

This blog will (hopefully) serve as both my new and improved, creative means of keeping you updated on the life and times of Liam, as well as a sort of online baby book for my own benefit. Easier to sit down and type our new experiences than record in a pretty little book...at least for now.

Please drop by here for a visit now and then to see what we're up to. Read and comment at your leisure. And we'll make sure to drop you a reminder every once in awhile, just in case.

Now, to see if I can actually keep this up.......
